Alumni Workshop in Colombia: “Open Energy Modelling”

https://seed-exchange.net

Two regional workshops will be organized in Ghana in 2025 and Colombia in 2026 to meet and discuss challenges and opportunities for open source energy modelling tools in an African and Latin American context – and of course to build or refresh regional PPRE networks. This year we invite several alumni to the workshop on “Open Energy Modelling” hosted at the University of Antioquiua in Medellín, Colombia. The workshop will address specific regional challenges and opportunities in energy planning and policy for the Latin American contexts. The focus is on imparting knowledge and skills through theoretical lectures and practical exercises in energy system modelling using Python. The required basic knowledge in Python programming and regional examples of energy modelling and policy and planning will be provided in advance in an online preparatory course. The workshop will be embedded in an extensive social programme that will provide space for regional and professional networking.
